What is the Petronas Scholarship?
Petronas the national petroleum company of Malaysia, launched the Petronas Scholarship program to identify and foster young talent. This prestigious scholarship program aims to provide support to outstanding students to pursue higher degrees.
PETRONAS believes that funding human capital development and education at all levels will allow for a steady and sustainable talent pipeline for the company, the sector, and the country.
Education Scholarship Petronas (Post-SPM)
Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) and other prestigious domestic and international universities in the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, China, Japan, and South Korea provide funding to eligible SPM graduates to pursue their postsecondary studies.

Petronas Scholarship Requirements
- Must be the SPM of the current year.
- Must be Malaysian citizens.
- Candidates aged between 16 – 19 years old in 2024.
- Possesses strong leadership skills.
- Actively take part (demonstrable) in extra-curricular activities.
- For Local Programme: Obtained minimum SPM 8A & CEFR (B1)
- For Oversea Programme: Obtained minimum SPM 4A+ & 4A & CEFR (C1)

Required Documents
Applicants must prepare and upload scanned copies of CERTIFIED TRUE COPY (CTC) of the required documents in the Online Application System (OAS):
- Identity Card (IC) – Applicant and Parents
- Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) result
- Pentaksiran Aktiviti Jasmani, Sukan & Kokurikulum (PAJSK) or equivalent
- Projects organized by NGO, community activities, Participation or involvement in co-curriculum, international competitions, or equivalent as specified in the application form (if any).
- The most recent income statements for both your mother and father.

How to Apply Petronas Scholarship?
The process of application is online for the Petronas Education Scholarships. You must submit your online application using your real SPM scores, which will be announced on May 27, 2024.
- Note that after you submit your application, your FIRST CHOICE OF PROGRAMME will be final. Make an informed decision because it will determine how your application will be reviewed and processed overall.
- Through the Online Application System (OAS), the successful candidates will be notified of the upcoming selection process and reward. To log in, please remember your username and password.
- Applications that are late or incomplete won’t be processed.
For the application of the PETRONAS Powering Knowledge initiative, NO processing fee is required.
How to register as a new user?
- To start the registration click “Register.”
- Then fill out the required information.
- You will receive an email activation at the address you registered with.
- Through the link in the email activate your account.
- After registration, log in by using your username and password.
